prologue;
Death. We all have to die at some point. From the moment we are born into the world, it's written in the cards that we are going to die sooner or later. How we die however, is a completley different story altogether. We may die when we are elderly and frail, in our beds and just drift away peacefully. We may have our lives snatched cruelly away from us, quickly but extremely painfully, in all those road traffic accidents and the accidental deaths that were never meant to happen. Or maybe they were, maybe fate decided to take a hand, and take a life at the same time. Then there are those people who choose to take their own lives, scared and alone, simply because they can not take the pain and anguish of a life they just do not want to live anymore.
Then, there is me. I am slowly dying, of a disease that no one can cure me of. The pain somedays can be excrutiating, and on others, it's not so bad. I take so many prescription drugs, I think I must be on a permanant high. The probability of reaching and celebrating my eighteenth birthday is very slim, and I know that I will not grow old and have children of my own. Tom, my brother will grow old however, and get married one day to the woman of his dreams and live his life the way a life should be lived, Full of passion, and taking risks and chances whenever the occasion arises. He may even tell his future children about his sister, the auntie they never got to meet, and how she was very ill when she was younger, so ill that she couldnt hold on to see all the new life that was being created, but that she would have loved to have met them, and been the best auntie they could have ever wished for. Yet, I have accepted my fate, and I know there is nothing anyone can do to save me now. My time is nearing, and its closing in on me faster and faster as each day passes and time moves along.
The only thing that makes me feel like I must go on, until I can no more, is my list.
