And I Thought I Loved You Then (het, sa)
Hey guys here's a Harry standalone. It's based off the song Then by Brad Paisley. I hope you guys like it, it's all fluff and good for all ages!
I smiled as I watched her sleep, she looked so beautiful, she always looked beautiful. Her blonde hair lay across the pillows, her eyes were closed concealing her large blue eyes that always told me exactly what she was thinking. The sun light that streamed in our window lit up the lightly tanned skin of her back as she slept. I moved to get a better look at her and her beauty, but my movement woke her. Her eyes fluttered open slowly and she smiled up at me. “Good morning.” She said softly. “Good morning.” I said quietly. I lay back down next her and she reached over laying her arm across my chest and we lay in a peaceful silence. “Whatcha’ thinking about baby?” she asked. “The day we first met, and how much I thought I loved you then.” “Harry mate, were out for a reason you just need to relax and forget about Rachel.” Dougie said putting his hand on my shoulder. “Yeah mate, beside Gio is bringing one of her friends to hang out with us and I think you might like her.” Tom said nodding. I sighed, I didn’t want to be out tonight, it had been almost a month since Rachel had dumped me and I was having a hard time getting her off my mind. I had thought we had a future together we’d been together for three years, I had excepted the fact that she didn’t love me but I wasn’t sure I still didn’t love her, every time I walked in the front door of our apartment I kept expecting to see her sitting in the kitchen working on something. I was pulled from my thoughts we Tom stood up. “Oh there they are.” He said smiling, I was jealous of the way he looked at Gio, they were so in love. “Hey sweetie.” Gio said coming up to us and kissing Tom. I smiled and looked away, noticing the girl standing next to her smiling shyly. She was the most gorgeous woman I’d ever seen, her blonde hair was curled, and long lashes lined her ocean blue eyes. I found myself staring, at her she was wearing a black strapless dress that cut off right below the middle of her thigh, and gave way to long beautiful legs. I felt Danny elbow me in the side and I looked away from her to see everyone staring at me including her looking very embarrassed and pleased at the same time her cheeks had gone a light shade of pink. “This is Alyssa.” Said Tom in a way that implied I needed to introduce myself. “Um Harry.”I mumbled. “Nice to meet you.” The entire night I had to stop myself from staring at her, she danced with Danny and Dougie, but I never worked up the nerve to say anything. As the night was winding down she came over to me where I was sitting alone everyone else dancing, the song switched to a slow one and she walked up holding out her hand in invitation. I took it without thinking about it, and we walked out to the dance floor, I slipped my hands around her waist and she wrapped hers around my shoulders locking them behind my neck. We swayed back and forth to the music completely caught up in each other not paying attention to the people around us. When the song came to an end switching to a more upbeat one she kept her arms locked around my neck smiling. “What are you doing next Saturday?” I asked. “Going out with you.” She said smiling devilishly. I just nodded and laughed. “ ‘Going out with you.’ God I can’t believe I said that.” She laughed turning that beautiful shade of pink she did when she was embarrassed. “I thought it was cut.” I told her. “Excuse me I am so much better than cute.” She said jokingly offended as she rolled away from me standing up and stretching trying to get the sleep out of her muscles. I laughed at her appearance, she looked so gorgeous with her hair pulled into a messy bun that was falling apart her tank top rose as she reached toward the sky. She turned and headed to our bathroom disappearing from sight. I thought back to that Saturday night smiling at the memory. We walked up to her front walk stopping in front of her front door the porch light shining down on us. She looked up and smiled at me. “I had a great time tonight Harry.” She said quietly. She looked beautiful in her white sundress, her hair pulled back in a ponytail bangs falling in front of her eyes. “Me too.” I said. We stood in silence I could tell she was nervous, and for the first time in my life so was I. I had never thought that much about the first kiss with a girl, but now there were ten thousand things going through my mind. She looked up and our eyes met and somehow she read all the things that were going through my mind. She smiled and leaned up kissing me gently. Again like the night we’d danced my hands slipped around her waist and her hands slipped over my shoulders and locked behind my neck. We stood like that for 45 minutes. She came back into the room her hair was now brushed and redone in to a ponytail with her bangs falling out of her hair and she came back to where I sat up in our bed. She crawled across positioning herself in my lap so her back was rested against my chest I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her lightly on the cheek. She smiled that breathtaking smile and giggled. “Ya know what I was thinking about?” she asked, I watched her put her hand out in front of her as she examined the newly placed engagement ring, she’d gotten a week ago. “What?” I asked smiling though I knew the answer. “The night you proposed.” She laughed softly. I felt so nervous, in this moment I was about to do either the best thing I’d ever done or the stupidest. We were sitting with our friends at the club we’d all met a year and a half ago. This time we were all complete, Tom and Gio, Dougie and Frankie, Danny and Liza, and me and Alyssa. All the pieces of the puzzle in place. I turned to Alyssa as the music turned to a slow song, the same song we’d danced to that night. “Want to dance?” I asked her. “Sure.” She said seeming surprised that I remembered this song. I threw a look at the other guys and they just smiled. I lead her on to the dance floor and she wrapped her arms around me. We swayed for a little bit, we were surrounded by people but I didn’t care. “I have to ask you something.” I told her. “What?” she asked smiling at me. I let go of her and lowered down to the ground on one knee. Her mouth fell open in an O shape, as she watched me. “Alyssa I love you, I’ve loved you since the moment I met you, your sweet, funny, caring, and I know you love me, so would you do me the honor of being my wife?” She stared at me shell shocked, slowly her head started to move up and down as she nodded. “YES!” she finally shouted, suddenly there was a bunch of laughter and we realized Tom had gone up to the DJ and told him to cut the music and the couples around us were now watching us. She clapped her hands over her mouth and turned pink, she was always turning pink. “Hun I need your hand if you want your ring.” I reminded her she turned and even darker shade of pink and stuck her hand out biting her lip as I slid the ring on her finger. When it was in place she pulled her hand back and stared at it smiling happily. I got to my feet and she threw her arms around me kissing me and holding me to her tightly like she never wanted to let go. “Yeah well it was pretty good day.” I said smiling. “A very good day.” She agreed sighing. “I’m hungry you want pancakes?” she asked. “Sure.” I laughed as she sprung out of bed and padded her way out the kitchen. I got up slowly and followed her out. She had turned on the radio and was now wandering around getting breakfast ready. I watched her as she sang along softly to the music. She looked over and smiled at me before turning back to cooking. As I watched her a dozen things flashed through my head, the way she’d look in ten months when we’d get married, the way she’d look when her belly was swollen our child sitting inside her, and the way she’d still make my heart beat fast even when her hair was turning grey. I thought back to the night I’d met her I had loved her then but now she was my whole life, my whole world, I couldn’t believe how I felt about this girl. We were stronger than we’d ever been our loving growing and growing, I had said that first night I couldn’t believe ever loving her more. And I thought I loved her then.
Coments? Sorry about the bunching up!
